The Honolulu Fire Department’s (HFD) official website at fire.honolulu.gov was redesigned to increase its user-friendly interface for information on the fire code and important fire and life safety topics developed specifically for homeowners, businesses, children, or elderly citizens.
“Pride, Service, Dedication is the HFD’s motto, and the improved website reflects the Department’s dedication to serving the public,” said Acting Fire Chief Lionel Camara Jr. “We revamped the website by enhancing public access and public engagement to better connect with our island communities.”
The HFD consulted with the Hawaii Information Consortium, LLC dba NIC Hawaii to redesign the site and develop innovative ways to educate users about many HFD facets, including fire prevention and community risk reduction, to help with creating safer communities through prevention, preparedness, and effective emergency response.
One of the key features on the redesigned website is an updated online form for information requests. This form allows the public to request for fire incident reports and property records or schedule a variety of fire safety education events, including fire evacuation planning or fire safety presentation.
