Acting Fire Chief Lionel Camara Jr. announced today that the Honolulu Fire Department’s 109th Fire Fighter Recruit (FFR) Class will graduate on June 4, 2021. The 109th FFR Class is comprised of the following members:

Training for this class commenced on October 19, 2020, and the FFRs completed more than 1,200 hours of rigorous training and instruction over 33 weeks. Five Recruit Training Officers and 25 Adjunct Instructors supervised the FFRs through a broad spectrum of fire service education and training.

Upon graduation, the FFRs will possess National Registry of Emergency Medical Technician-Basic (NREMT-B) and International Fire Service Accreditation Congress (IFSAC) Fire Fighter (FF) I and II, Hazardous Materials (HM) Awareness, and HM Operations certifications. NREMT-B and IFSAC certifications confer recognition that a FF received training that meets national standards.

Additionally, the following four awards will be presented:
– Superior Performance in Drills
– Excellence in Scholastic Achievement
– Most Inspirational FFR
– Outstanding FFR
