UPDATE: HFD DETERMINES DAMAGE ESTIMATES OF TWO-ALARM HOUSE FIRE IN WAIMANALO

UPDATE: The Honolulu Fire Department’s Fire Investigator has determined fire damage
estimates for the July 7, 2021 fire at 41-1441 Kuhimana Street in Waimanalo.

Fire damages were estimated at $380,000 to the building and $5,000 to the contents.
The home displaced four residents, an increase of one from the initial count. There
were no working smoke alarms in the home and the cause and origin of the fire is still
under investigation.

The Honolulu Fire Commission is accepting applications for the Fire Chief position.

*Permits are required to purchase and use firecrackers for special events and holidays.
*Purchased permits shall be picked up at designated Satellite City Halls, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday.
*Last day to purchase an online permit for New Year’s Eve and Day is midnight on December 21, 2021 .
