UPDATE: CAUSE OF WAIANAE HOUSE FIRE IS UNDETERMINED

UPDATE: The Honolulu Fire Department Fire Investigator has classified the cause of the fire at 87-794 Farrington Highway in Waianae on July 27, 2021 as undetermined. The fire that originated in the living room destroyed a single-story dwelling. Neighbors were the first to be alerted and tried to use a garden hose to put out the fire. There were no smoke detectors. Damages are estimated at $662,000 to the house and $250 to its contents. The blaze affected two neighboring structures. Exposure damages to the property at 87-802 Farrington Highway are estimated at $31,000 to the building and its contents. Exposure damages to the other property at 87-105 Maipalaloa Road are estimated at $2,250 to the building and its contents.
