HFD WORKING TO CONTAIN BRUSH FIRE NORTH OF PATSY T. MINK CENTRAL OAHU REGIONAL PARK

The Honolulu Fire Department (HFD) is currently working to contain a large brush fire, north of the Patsy T. Mink Central Oahu Regional Park (PTMCORP). Seventeen HFD units with 49 fire fighters responded. The first fire fighters arrived at the scene at 12:28 p.m. to find a large brush fire near the Archery Range of PTMCORP. Although details are forthcoming, it is still unknown as to the cause of the fire.

HFD has established command and working to protect the Aquatic Center of PTMCORP. Due to limited access to the fire, crews are relying heavily on HFD tankers to supply water. This fire is not yet under control and more information will be available after the fire has been fully extinguished. No injuries have been reported at this time.
