The Honolulu Fire Department (HFD) received a 911 call at 6:22 p.m. this evening for a recovery in waters off Diamond Head. Three HFD units, staffed with 10 personnel, responded. The first unit arrived at the scene at 6:28 p.m., established command and investigated further. HFD personnel retrieved an unresponsive male, age unknown, from Ocean Safety personnel who had brought him to shore on a rescue watercraft. CPR protocols were initiated by HFD personnel and patient care was transferred to Emergency Medical Services at 6:45 p.m. The patient was transported to an area hospital. His status is unknown at this time.
