HFD UPDATE: ESTIMATED DAMAGES DETERMINED FOR AINA HAINA FIRE WHILE THE CAUSE REMAINS UNDER INVESTIGATION

UPDATE: The Honolulu Fire Investigator reports the two-alarm fire on January 11, 2022, at 88 Wailupe Circle was contained to the attic and roof of the single-story house. However, the exact origin and cause of the fire are still under investigation. Smoke alarms were present in the home, but they did not activate due to the location of the fire. Total damages are estimated at $244,000 including $234,000 to the structure and $10,000 to the contents.

The Honolulu Fire Commission is accepting applications for the Fire Chief position.
