The Honolulu Fire Department (HFD) will conduct a ceremony and demonstration to officially welcome Eve, its new Accelerant Detection Canine, to the HFD family.
Eve is a 2½-year-old yellow Labrador Retriever. Together, Eve and her Canine Handler, Micah Ancheta, completed 200 hours of training in the State Farm Arson Dog Program at the New Hampshire Fire Training Academy.
The HFD continues to improve its fire fighting and response capabilities. Chief Hao believes Eve enhances and improves the HFD with her amazing detection skills.
Who: The Honorable Mayor Rick Blangiardi, Fire Chief Sheldon Hao, and Mark Middleton with State Farm Insurance will speak.
