On August 3, 2022, the Honolulu Fire Department (HFD) received a 911 call at 3:36
p.m. for a missing hiker on Judd trail in Nuuanu. Four resource units, staffed with 13
personnel, responded to the emergency.
It was reported that a female in her fifties became separated from her hiking party and
was presumed to be missing. The first firefighters arrived at the scene at 3:51 p.m. and
met the caller at the trailhead. Fire fighters and rescue personnel ascended the trail
and began to search for the missing hiker. At 4:42 p.m., the hiker arrived at the
trailhead uninjured and did not require any medical attention.
All HFD personnel were accounted for with no reports of injuries.
