ONE PERSON EXTRICATED FROM SINGLE VEHICLE CRASH IN EWA BEACH

On November 21, 2022, the Honolulu Fire Department (HFD) received a 911 call at 7:31 p.m. for a vehicle crash in the intersection of Renton Road and Park Row in Ewa Beach with 4 HFD units staffed with 14 personnel. The first fire fighters arrived at the scene at 7:35 p.m to find a head-on motor vehicle crash involving a light duty pickup truck and a light post. One occupant was pinned in the vehicle.

The first arriving HFD crew established command, stabilized the vehicle, and used battery-powered hydraulic rescue tools to extricate and free the person at 7:44 p.m. Medical care was transferred to the onscene Emergency Medical Services personnel upon completion of the extrication. All HFD personnel were accounted for with no injuries to them.
