WAREHOUSE FIRE EXTINGUISHED IN KAILUA

On March 17, 2023, the Honolulu Fire Department (HFD) received a 911 call at 3:35
p.m. for a building fire at 905 Kapaa Quarry Road in Kailua and responded with 11 units
staffed with approximately 42 personnel. The first unit arrived at the scene at 3:43 p.m.
to find a fully involved warehouse fire.

Fire fighters secured a water supply and commenced a defensive fire attack. It was
reported that all occupants had exited the building and were accounted for. The fire was
brought under control at 4:22 p.m. and extinguished at 5:45 p.m.

All HFD personnel were accounted for with a report of a minor injury to one fire fighter. The fire fighter was treated and transported to a nearby hospital and later discharged in
good condition.

An investigation has been initiated to determine the fire’s origin and cause and to
provide damage estimates. An update will be sent out once the final investigation report
is complete.
