On September 1, 2024, the Honolulu Fire Department (HFD) received a 911 call at 8:09 p.m. and responded to a motor vehicle collision near Wilikina Drive and Kaukonahua Road in Wahiawa with 5 units staffed with 15 personnel. The first unit arrived on scene at 8:17 p.m. and reported a two-vehicle accident with one occupant trapped in their vehicle.

HFD personnel stabilized the vehicles and used hydraulic rescue tools to extricate one occupant and transferred medical care to Emergency Medical Services at 8:28 p.m. Two other occupants refused medical treatment. HFD personnel secured the scene and transferred command to the Honolulu Police Department.

All HFD personnel were accounted for with no injuries.
