On October 19, 2023, Honolulu Fire Department (HFD) received a 911 call at 7:10 p.m. for a single car accident on Ali’inui Drive in Kapolei and responded with 4 companies staffed with 14 personnel. The first unit arrived on scene at 7:18 p.m. and confirmed a single-car accident with the vehicle resting on its side with two occupants trapped inside. HFD personnel used battery-powered hydraulic rescue tools to quickly and safely extricate the occupants from the vehicle. Medical care was immediately transferred to Emergency Medical Services at 7:32 p.m.

All HFD personnel were accounted for with no injuries
