On October 21, 2023, the Honolulu Fire Department (HFD) received a 911 call at 4:58
a.m. for a building fire at 94-633 Honowai Street in Waipahu and responded with 7 units
staffed with approximately 24 personnel. The first unit arrived at the scene at 5:04 a.m.
to find smoke emanating from a small, two-story residential structure.

Fire fighters secured a water supply and commenced an offensive fire attack. The fire
was extinguished at 5:26 a.m. All HFD personnel were accounted for with no reports of
injuries.

An investigation has been initiated to determine the fire’s origin and cause and to
provide damage estimates. An update will be sent out once the final investigation report
is complete.
