RESIDENTIAL BUILDING FIRE EXTINGUISHED IN MILILANI

On November 10, 2023, the Honolulu Fire Department (HFD) received a 911 call at
10:16 p.m. for a building fire near 94-103 Auhaku Place in Mililani and responded with 7
units staffed with 23 personnel. The first unit arrived on scene at 10:22 p.m. to find light
smoke emanating from the right side of a single story residential home.

Fire fighters secured a water supply and initiated an aggressive fire attack with hand
lines. The search for occupants within the home where the fire originated resulted in
confirming that there was no one in the house during the incident. Three dogs from the
home were found safe and united with their owner. Two children were evaluated by
Emergency Medical Services for smoke inhalation, but were not transported. The fire
was brought under control at 10:31 p.m. Overhaul techniques were also performed to
look for hidden fire in void spaces to confirm that the fire did not extend into adjacent
areas of the home. The fire was extinguished at 10:43 p.m. All HFD personnel were
accounted for with no reports of injuries.

The HFD Fire Investigator was requested to determine the origin and cause of the fire as
well as provide damage estimates. An update will be sent out once the final
investigation report is complete.
