BUILDING FIRE EXTINGUISHED IN WAHIAWA

On November 22, 2023, the Honolulu Fire Department (HFD) received a 911 call at 4:43
p.m. for a rubbish fire at Kilani Avenue and Kamehameha Highway in Wahiawa and
responded with two units staffed with approximately five personnel. The first unit arrived
at the scene at 4:45 p.m. to find smoke emanating from beneath a small, single-story
commercial structure. The incident was upgraded to a building fire and six additional
units were dispatched.

Fire fighters commenced an offensive fire attack and quickly brought the fire under
control at 4:51 p.m. The fire was declared fully extinguished at 6:15 p.m. All additional
companies were canceled en route since the initial two companies were able to handle
the remainder of the incident on their own.

All HFD personnel were accounted for with no reports of injuries.

An investigation has been initiated to determine the fire’s origin and cause and to
provide damage estimates. An update will be sent out once the final investigation report
is complete.
