SEARCH RESUMES FOR MISSING PERSON AT ALA MOANA BEACH

UPDATE: The Honolulu Fire Department continues to assist the Honolulu Police
Department with their search for the missing suspect in the Ala Moana Beach Park
area.

SEARCH FOR MISSING PERSON AT ALA MOANA BEACH SUSPENDED FOR THE
NIGHT


On November 21, 2023, the Honolulu Fire Department (HFD) received a 911 call at 9:06
p.m. to assist the Honolulu Police Department (HPD) with finding a male suspect who
had fled into the water at Ala Moana Beach Park. The HFD responded with six units,
staffed with 17 personnel. The first unit arrived at the scene at 9:16 p.m., established
command and investigated further. A second unit secured a nearby landing zone to
prepare for air operations.

Air 1 searched by air while rescue personnel and HPD officers searched the ocean by
boat. After a thorough search by air, land, and sea, HFD suspended search operations
at 11:15 p.m. The search will continue at first light.

All HFD personnel were accounted for with no injuries.
