RESIDENTIAL BUILDING FIRE EXTINGUISHED NEAR PEARL HARBOR

On December 15, 2023, the Honolulu Fire Department (HFD) received a 911 call at 1:51
a.m. for a building fire near the intersection of Center Drive and Radford Drive near
Pearl Harbor, and responded with 6 units staffed with approximately 22 personnel. While
enroute, the nearest unit radioed that smoke was visible from a distance, striking a
second alarm for a total of nine units and 34 personnel. The first unit arrived on scene at
1:58 a.m. and found a two-story residential structure fully involved.

Fire fighters began a defensive fire attack to protect adjacent structures. Several
Federal Fire Department units also arrived on scene. The homes involved were
abandoned. The initial fire structure collapsed shortly after the arrival of fire units. The
fire was brought under control at 2:20 a.m. The scene was left to the Federal Fire
Department for extinguishment and investigation to determine the fire’s origin and
cause.

All HFD personnel were accounted for with no reports of injuries.
