On January 12, 2024, the Honolulu Fire Department (HFD) received a 911 call at 7:57 p.m. for employees feeling sick at retail store located near 2230 Kalakaua Avenue in Waikiki and responded with 3 units staffed with 11 personnel.
The first unit arrived at 8:04 p.m. and evacuated Victoria Secret and a neighboring commercial space as a precaution until the Hazardous Materials (HazMat) unit could analyze the location’s air quality and deem it safe. Upon arrival, Hazmat personnel conducted air sampling and environmental testing measures and found no sign of carbon monoxide. The unit’s occupants were then allowed to return to the building and
operate their business as usual.
HFD closed this incident with no injuries reported.
