On January 19, 2024, the Honolulu Fire Department (HFD) received a 911 call at 10:29
p.m. for a building fire at Lualualei Beach Park in Waianae and responded with 8 units
staffed with 24 personnel. The first unit arrived on scene at 10:35 p.m. to find the roof of
the park’s restroom facility on fire.
Fire fighters secured a water supply and initiated an aggressive fire attack to bring the
fire under control at 10:42 p.m. The fire was fully extinguished at 11:15 p.m. All HFD
personnel were accounted for with no reports of injuries.
The HFD Fire Investigator was requested to determine the origin and cause of the fire as
well as provide damage estimates. An update will be sent out once the final investigation
report is complete.
