UPDATE: The Honolulu Fire Department (HFD) Investigator has classified the cause of
the fire that occurred on January 19, 2024 at Lualualei Beach Park in Waianae as
incendiary. The area of origin was the interior of the park’s restroom facility. The first fuel
ignited was miscellaneous rubbish items. The damage estimate is $65,000 to the
property and $0 to the contents.
