UPDATE: The Honolulu Fire Department (HFD) Investigator has classified the cause of
the fire that occurred on January 18, 2024 at the updated address of 1438 Liliha Street,
Unit 205 in Kalihi as accidental. The area of origin was the kitchen. The probable
ignition source was a cigarette that was improperly disposed of in the rubbish bin. The
damage estimate is $90,000 to the property and $10,000 to the contents.
