TWO-ALARM COMMERCIAL BUILDING FIRE EXTINGUISHED IN AIEA

On January 24, 2024, the Honolulu Fire Department (HFD) received a 911 call at 9:49
a.m. for a building fire at 98-150 Kaonohi Street in Aiea and responded with 9 units
staffed with approximately 34 personnel. The first unit arrived on scene at 9:55 a.m. to
find smoke emanating from a roof vent of a two-story commercial structure.

Fire fighters established command and initiated a fire attack with handlines. The fire was
fully extinguished at 10:42 a.m. The fire originated within a first floor unit and light smoke
impacted three other units on the second floor. Fire fighters used ventilation fans to clear
out any remaining smoke from the affected units.

One person was transferred to the Emergency Medical Services for possible smoke
inhalation at 10:11 a.m. All HFD personnel were accounted for with no reports of injuries.
