KANEOHE RESIDENCE EVACUATED FOR POSSIBLE CARBON MONOXIDE EXPOSURE

On February 8, 2024, the Honolulu Fire Department (HFD) received a 911 call at 6:00 p.m. for a resident feeling sick from possible carbon monoxide exposure at 45-840 Anoi Road in Kaneohe and responded with 3 units staffed with 11 personnel.

The first unit arrived at 6:06 p.m. and evacuated the home as a precaution until the Hazardous Materials (HazMat) unit could analyze the location’s air quality and deem it safe. HFD personnel located and medically assessed a male occupant in his 20s. Medical care of the patient was then transferred to the Emergency Medical Services. Upon arrival, HazMat personnel conducted air sampling and environmental testing measures and found no signs of carbon monoxide in the home. The unit’s occupants were then allowed to return to the residence.

HFD closed this incident with no injuries reported.
