COMMERCIAL BUILDING FIRE EXTINGUISHED IN KAILUA

On February 11, 2024, the Honolulu Fire Department (HFD) received a 911 call at 12:00
a.m. for a building fire at 905 Kalanianaole Highway in Kailua and responded with 9
units staffed with approximately 34 personnel. The first unit arrived at the scene at 00:08
a.m. to find heavy smoke emanating from a large, single-story commercial building.

Fire fighters secured a water supply and commenced an offensive fire attack. The fire
was brought under control at 12:24 a.m. and extinguished at 1:49 a.m. All HFD
personnel were accounted for with no reports of injuries.

An investigation has been initiated to determine the fire’s origin and cause and to
provide damage estimates. An update will be sent out once the final investigation report
is complete.
