On February 12, 2024, the Honolulu Fire Department (HFD) received a 911 call at 5:13 p.m. for a chemical spill at 99-682 Kamehameha Highway in Aiea and responded with three units staffed with 11 personnel.
The first unit arrived at 5:17 p.m., established command and then determined that antifreeze had leaked from a bus. Two people reported that antifreeze spilled on their clothing. HFD assessed the two patients and transferred care to Emergency Medical Services. HFD personnel used absorbent to soak up the remaining spilled antifreeze.
All HFD personnel were accounted for with no injuries.
