On February 15, 2024, the Honolulu Fire Department (HFD) received a 911 call at 12:17 a.m. for a building fire near 1109 Wiliki Drive in Aliamanu and responded with 9 units staffed with approximately 34 personnel. The first unit arrived at the scene at 12:23 a.m. to find heavy smoke and fire emanating from a large structure threatening nearby homes and exposures.
Fire fighters secured a water supply and commenced an aggressive offensive fire attack from multiple sides of the home with large handlines. The fire was brought under control at 12:45 a.m. and extinguished at 1:22 a.m. Eight occupants were displaced and referred to the American Red Cross for assistance.
All HFD personnel were accounted for with no reports of injuries.
An investigation has been initiated to determine the fire’s origin and cause and to provide damage estimates. An update will be sent out once the final investigation report is complete.
