RESIDENTIAL BUILDING FIRE EXTINGUISHED IN MANOA

On February 22, 2024, the Honolulu Fire Department (HFD) received a 911 call at 3:08
a.m. for a building fire near 2402 E. Manoa Road in Manoa and responded with 11 units
staffed with approximately 43 personnel. The first unit arrived on scene at 3:12 a.m. to
find heavy smoke emanating from a single-story residence.

Fire fighters secured a water supply and initiated a defensive fire attack to bring the fire
under control at 3:32 a.m. All searches for occupants confirmed that there was no one
in the building during the incident. Overhaul techniques were performed to look for
hidden fire in void spaces of the building to ensure the fire did not extend into other
areas of the building. The fire was extinguished at 4:59 a.m. All HFD personnel were
accounted for with no reports of injuries.

The HFD Fire Investigator was requested to determine the origin and cause of the fire as
well as provide damage estimates. An update will be sent out once the final
investigation report is complete.
