HFD ASSISTED WITH A BODY RECOVERY NEAR LAHILAHI POINT IN WAIANAE

On February 28, 2024, the Honolulu Fire Department (HFD) received a 911 call at 1:00
p.m. for a body recovery near Lahilahi Point in Waianae and responded with 5 units
staffed with 13 personnel. The first unit arrived on scene at 1:03 p.m., established
command and made their way to the body’s location on foot.

It was reported that a male, approximately in his 30s, was DOA, or dead on arrival. Due
to the remote location, the HFD packaged and airflited the body via Air 1 to the nearby
landing zone. The body was transferred to Emergency Medical Services and custody of
the scene was left with the Honolulu Police Department.

All HFD personnel were accounted for with no injuries.
