RESIDENTIAL BUILDING FIRE EXTINGUISHED IN EWA BEACH

On March 1, 2024, the Honolulu Fire Department (HFD) received a 911 call at 9:11 a.m.
for a building fire at 91-1352 Hoopio Street in Ewa Beach and responded with 10 units
staffed with approximately 35 personnel. The first unit arrived at the scene at 9:19 a.m.
to find smoke and flames emanating from a small, two-story residence.

Fire fighters secured a water supply and commenced an offensive fire attack. The fire
was brought under control at 10:09 a.m. and extinguished at 11:20 a.m. All HFD
personnel were accounted for with no reports of injuries.

The American Red Cross was notified to assist with the eight adults who were displaced
from their home. An investigation has been initiated to determine the fire’s origin and
cause and to provide damage estimates. An update will be sent out once the final
investigation report is complete.
