BUILDING FIRE EXTINGUISHED IN WAHIAWA

On March 5, 2024, the Honolulu Fire Department (HFD) received a 911 call at 6:04 p.m. for a building fire near 730 Wilikina Drive in Wahiawa and responded with 9 units staffed with approximately 30 personnel. The first unit arrived on scene at 6:09 p.m. to a ten story high rise with nothing showing and occupants evacuating the building.

Fire fighters established a command post, secured a water supply, and upon investigation found a fire that was contained and extinguished to a unit’s kitchen by the building’s sprinkler system. Fire fighters turned off the sprinkler system and assisted building occupants with water evacuation and salvage operations.

All HFD personnel were accounted for with no reports of injuries.
