The 115th FFR Class commenced its training on July 10, 2023. The success of the Recruit Training Program is due to the many instructors from the Training and Research Bureau, other HFD divisions and fire suppression forces, and third-party evaluators who provided a broad spectrum of fire service education and training. FFRs underwent 1,440 hours of rigorous instruction over 38 weeks. All 39 FFRs are now certified to the International Fire Service Accreditation Congress Fire Fighter I and II, hazardous materials awareness, and operations levels; basic driving skills; and the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians.

The following four awards were presented at the graduation:

  • Superior Performance in Drills Award to FFR Raven Mortensen Young
  • Excellence in Scholastic Achievement Award to FFR Ryan Miller
  • Most Inspirational FFR Award to FFR Kaʻimipono Drumright
  • Outstanding FFR Award to FFR Te Kaha Peihopa
