VEHICLE FIRE EXTINGUISHED IN MAKIKI

On March 29, 2024, the Honolulu Fire Department (HFD) received a 911 call at 5:46 a.m. for a vehicle fire near 1644 Piikoi Street Street in Makiki and responded with 1 unit staffed with 4 personnel. The first unit arrived at the scene at 5:51 a.m. to find smoke emanating from one vehicle parked on the side of the street. No structures were impacted.

Fire fighters immediately commenced an offensive fire attack and brought the fire under control at 5:59 a.m. The fire was fully extinguished at 6:11 a.m.

All HFD personnel were accounted for with no reports of injuries.

An investigation has been initiated to determine the fire’s origin and cause and to provide damage estimates. An update will be sent out once the final investigation report is complete.
