On March 30, 2024, the Honolulu Fire Department (HFD) received a 911 call at 11:04 a.m. for a building fire at 2948 East Manoa Road in Manoa and responded with 11 units staffed with approximately 42 personnel. The first unit arrived on scene at 11:08 a.m. to find a working fire on the second floor of a medium-sized, three-story apartment building.
Fire fighters secured a water supply, commenced an offensive fire attack and declared the fire under control at 11:25 a.m. The fire was fully extinguished at 11:41 a.m. A primary and secondary search were conducted to ensure no occupants were in the unit and the fire did not spread to adjacent units. A pet cat was rescued from the fire unit.
An investigation has been initiated to determine the fire’s origin and cause and to provide damage estimates. An update will be sent out once the final investigation report is complete.
