On May 13, 2024, the Honolulu Fire Department (HFD) received a 911 call at 10:28 a.m. and responded to a building fire at 85-164 McArthur Street in Waianae with 12 units staffed with approximately 37 personnel. The first unit arrived on scene at 10:30 a.m. to find a working fire at a medium three-story townhouse.
Fire fighters secured a water supply, commenced an offensive fire attack and quickly had the fire under control at 10:41 a.m. The fire was fully extinguished at 11:15 a.m. A primary and secondary search confirmed there were no occupants in the structure.
An investigation has been initiated to determine the fire’s origin and cause and to provide damage estimates. An update will be sent out once the final investigation report is complete.
