UPDATE: The Honolulu Fire Department (HFD) Investigator has classified the cause of
the fire that occurred on May 13, 2024 at 85-164 McArthur Street in Waianae as
accidental. The cause of the fire was due to improper disposal of smoking materials into
a trash box. The damage estimate is $51,000 to the building and $4,000 to the contents.
