COMMERCIAL BUILDING FIRE EXTINGUISHED IN KAILUA

On May 28, 2024, the Honolulu Fire Department (HFD) received a 911 call at 3:49 p.m. and responded to a building fire at 600 Kailua Road in Kailua with 6 units staffed with approximately 22 personnel. The first unit arrived on scene at 3:54 p.m. to find light smoke emanating from the structure.

Fire fighters secured a water supply, commenced an offensive fire attack and had the fire under control at 4:18 p.m. The fire was fully extinguished at 4:31 p.m. A primary and secondary search confirmed there were no occupants in the structure.

An investigation has been initiated to determine the fire’s origin and cause as well as provide damage estimates. An update will be sent out once the final investigation report is complete.
