While continuing a search for a missing hiker, HFD personnel recovered a body on the Makapuu Cliffs this morning. HFD Rescue personnel had rappelled down the side of the cliffs, using over 300 feet of rope, when they located the body at 8:17 a.m. on the Makapuu Beach side of the cliffs. The body was secured and airlifted by Air 1 to a nearby landing zone at 9:05 a.m., where HPD took over custody.

All HFD personnel were accounted for with no injuries.
