HIKER RESCUED FROM THE LULUMAHU FALLS TRAIL IN NUUANU

On June 14, 2024, the Honolulu Fire Department (HFD) received a 911 call at 12:42 p.m. and responded to lost hikers on the Lulumahu Falls Trail in Nuuanu with 6 units staffed with 17 personnel. The first unit arrived on scene at 12:56 p.m. and ascended the trail on foot. The second-arriving unit secured a nearby landing zone in preparation for air operations.

It was reported that two females in their 20s became separated from their hiking party and were unable to find their way to the trail. HFD personnel arrived at the hikers’ location where they conducted a medical assessment and confirmed the hikers were uninjured. The hikers were, then, safely airlifted to the nearby landing zone where they refused medical treatment.

All HFD personnel were accounted for with no injuries.
