ONE OCCUPANT EXTRICATED FROM A VEHICLE CRASH ON THE H1 FREEWAY IN WAIPAHU

On June 17, 2024, the Honolulu Fire Department (HFD) received a 911 call at 12:02 a.m. and responded to a single motor vehicle accident on the H1 Freeway in the Waipahu area with five units staffed with 15 personnel. The first-arriving unit arrived on scene at 12:11 a.m. and located the overturned vehicle with one occupant still trapped inside. HFD personnel stabilized the vehicle, used battery-powered hydraulic rescue tools to safely extricate the occupant and transferred medical care to the Emergency Services Department at 12:18 a.m. HFD personnel secured the scene and transferred command to the Honolulu Police Department.

All HFD personnel were accounted for with no injuries.
