INJURED PERSON RESCUED AT SPITTING CAVES IN HAWAII KAI

On June 18, 2024, the Honolulu Fire Department (HFD) received a 911 call at 6:30 p.m. and responded to an injured person at “Spitting Caves” in Hawaii Kai. The first unit arrived on scene at 6:38 p.m., established command, and descended the trail to the water’s edge. The patient was found to be on the rocks near the water with reported injuries. The first unit upgraded the alarm to a rescue due to the location the patient was in. HFD responded with a total of seven units staffed with approximately 21 personnel.

HFD personnel conducted a medical assessment and administered basic life support. The patient was then safely airlifted to the nearby landing zone where medical care was transferred to the Emergency Medical Services at 4:12 p.m.

All HFD personnel were accounted for with no reports of injuries.
