RUBBISH FIRE IN HONOLULU EXTINGUISHED

On June 19, 2024, the Honolulu Fire Department (HFD) received a 911 call at 2:30 a.m. for a building fire at the intersection of Kona Street and Pensacola Street in Honolulu and responded with 7 units staffed with 26 personnel. The first unit arrived on scene at 2:36 a.m. to find a rubbish fire that had spread to some materials on a construction site.

Fire fighters initiated an aggressive fire attack to quickly bring the fire under control at 2:38 a.m. The fire was fully extinguished at 2:49 a.m. All HFD personnel were accounted for with no reports of injuries.

The HFD Fire Investigator was requested to determine the origin and cause of the fire as well as provide damage estimates. An update will be sent out once the final investigation report is complete.
