HIKER RESCUED FROM THE LULUMAHU FALLS TRAIL IN NUUANU

On June 22, 2024, the Honolulu Fire Department (HFD) received a 911 call at 2:08 p.m. and responded to lost hikers on the Lulumahu Falls Trail in Nuuanu with 6 units staffed with 17 personnel. The first unit arrived on scene at 2:20 p.m. HFD personnel ascended the trail on foot. Another unit secured a nearby landing zone in preparation for air operations.

It was reported that a party of four hikers were on the trail when a 63-year-old male fell
and was injured. HFD personnel arrived at the hikers’ location at 2:29 p.m. and conducted a medical assessment. It was decided that they would escort the hiker out on foot. All of the hikers were off the trail at 2:45 p.m. and patient care was transferred to Emergency Medical Services.

All HFD personnel were accounted for with no injuries.
