INJURED HIKER RESCUED FROM THE MANOA FALLS TRAIL IN MANOA

On June 29, 2024, the Honolulu Fire Department (HFD) received a 911 call at 12:16 p.m. and responded to an injured hiker on the Manoa Falls Trail in Manoa with 6 units staffed with 17 personnel. The first unit arrived on scene at 12:29 p.m., established command and proceeded up the trail on foot. The second-arriving unit secured a nearby landing zone in preparation for air operations.

It was reported that a female hiker in her 60s sustained an injury and was unable to descend the trail on her own. HFD personnel arrived at the hiker’s location at 12:43 p.m. where they conducted a medical assessment and performed basic life support treatment. The hiker was, then, safely airlifted to the nearby landing zone where medical care was transferred to the Emergency Medical Services at 1:06 p.m.

All HFD personnel were accounted for with no injuries.
