RESIDENTIAL BUILDING FIRE EXTINGUISHED IN KAHALUU

On July 1, 2024, the Honolulu Fire Department (HFD) received a 911 call at 3:11 a.m. and responded to a building fire near 47-287 Ahuimanu Road in Kahaluu with 9 units staffed with approximately 34 personnel. The first unit arrived on scene at 3:20 a.m. to find a working fire with smoke and flames emanating from a small, single-story home.

Fire fighters secured a water supply, commenced an aggressive fire attack with an engine mounted master stream and multiple handlines. Additional fire personnel completed a primary and secondary search to confirm no occupants were inside the structure. The fire was brought under control at 3:36 a.m. and fully extinguished at 4:05 a.m. The American Red Cross was called for four adults needing their services. All HFD personnel were accounted for with no reports of injuries.

An investigation has been initiated to determine the fire’s origin and cause and to provide damage estimates. An update will be sent out once the final investigation report is complete.
