BODY OF INJURED PERSON RECOVERED NEAR THE HALONA BLOWHOLE LOOKOUT IN HAWAII KAI

On July 28, 2024, the Honolulu Fire Department (HFD) received a 911 call at 9:46 a.m. and responded to an injured person near the Halona Blowhole Lookout in Hawaii Kai with six units staffed with approximately 17 personnel. The first unit arrived on the scene at 9:57 a.m., established command and descended the rocks to investigate.

HFD personnel made it to the patient’s side at 10:01 a.m. Rescue personnel packaged the patient and then Air 1 transported the patient to a nearby landing zone where care was transferred to the Emergency Medical Services at 10:47 a.m.

All HFD personnel were accounted for with no reports of injuries.
