CAUSE OF BUILDING FIRE IN MAKAHA WAS ACCIDENTAL

UPDATE: The Honolulu Fire Department Investigator has classified the cause of the fire that occurred on September 12, 2024, at 84-161 A Orange Street in Makaha, as accidental.

The ignition source was an electric arc from an inverter used for the home solar panel system. The damage estimate for the incident address is $100,000 to the property and $50,000 to the contents.
