On October 1, 2024, the Honolulu Fire Department (HFD) received a 911 call at 11:57 a.m. and responded to a wildland fire near 64-484 Kamehameha Highway in Haleiwa with three units staffed with nine personnel. The first unit arrived at the scene at 12:06 p.m., requested additional resources and commenced an offensive fire attack.
The fire was declared under control at 1:19 p.m. and fully contained at 2:08 p.m. Approximately ten acres were burned. No structures were threatened and no evacuations were ordered.
All HFD personnel were accounted for with no injuries reported.
An investigation has been initiated to determine the fire’s origin and cause as well as to provide damage estimates. An update will be sent out once the final investigation report is complete.
