On October 13, 2024, the Honolulu Fire Department (HFD) received a 911 call at 9:22 p.m. and responded to a building fire near 651 Komohana Street in Kapolei with 7 units staffed with 23 personnel. The first unit arrived at 9:27 p.m. to find stacks of wooden pallets on fire. The pallets were located near the adjacent property’s outdoor storage area.
Fire fighters secured a water supply from multiple fire hydrants, accessed adjacent properties and began a offensive attack on the fire. The fire was brought under control at 9:43 p.m. and extinguished at 10:41 p.m.
All HFD personnel were accounted for with no injuries reported.
An investigation has been initiated to determine the fire’s origin and cause as well as to provide damage estimates. An update will be sent out once the final investigation report is complete.
