CAUSE OF RESIDENTIAL BUILDING FIRE IN AIEA WAS ACCIDENTAL

UPDATE: The Honolulu Fire Department (HFD) Investigator has classified the cause of the fire that occurred on October 30, 2024, at 98-1873 Hapaki Street in Aiea, as accidental. The fire originated in the kitchen due to unattended cooking on an energized stovetop. The damage estimate for the incident address is $158,000 to the building and its contents.
